As summer turns into fall and boating season comes to a close, it’s now time to winterize your boat. This allows you to take the necessary steps to ensure your boat will be in prime condition for next season. If a boat is not properly winterized, moisture can be trapped in the interior components of the engine, which can cause serious damage to your boat. Water expands when it freezes, which means if it is not properly winterized, the water within the engine can cause cracking and corrosion.  Winterizing your boat each year is a great way to protect your asset and can save you from learning a hard (and expensive) lesson!

What does “winterize” your boat mean?

Great question! It truly comes down to protecting your engine and the water circulating components surrounding it.  This includes the manifolds, water circulation pump, and water veins that run out of the engine. In short, it is for freeze prevention and asset protection.

Here at River City Boat Sales, we offer three different winterization packages:

Bronze, Silver, and Gold. As seen below, you can choose from the three different packages based on what exactly you want to do to prepare for winter. The silver package is our most popular, it includes oil and filter changes so your engine sits with new, clean fluids all winter long!

While we hate to see our summer boating season winding down, now is the time to schedule your winter service work. This way, your boat is in turn-key condition and ready to go come spring 2021.

We are here to help.  Call, text, or email us today to schedule your winter service appointment.
